Government of Puducherry Police Department invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens who are Natives/ Residents of Union Territory of Puducherry for the competitive examination to be held for the direct recruitment to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police, and Police Constable (Group B' Non Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) in the Police Department, Puducherry.

Sub-Inspector of Police: 70 Vacancies
Police Constable: 148 Vacancies

Eligibility Criteria:
Sub-Inspector of Police: Candidates must possess a Graduate Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent.

Police Constable: The candidate must have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent.

Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 20 years and must not have crossed the maximum age of 27 years for Sub-Inspector of Police (22 years for Police Constable) as on 12-09-2025. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable per government rules.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of the Physical Standard Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Written Examination followed by the Medical Examination.

Physical Standard Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Certificate verification and Medical examination will be held in Puducherry only.

Pay Scale: Pay Level of 03 for Police Constable
Pay Level of 06 for Sub-Inspector of Police
