Job Description

Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL), a state-owned Power Utility in Odisha, is engaged in the business of Transmission of electricity with a vision to emerge as one of the leading power utilities in the country in the Transmission space.

OPTCL invites online applications from eligible candidates for direct recruitment to the posts of Management Trainee (MT), Junior Management Trainee(JMT) in Civil and Law disciplines, and Office Assistant at various offices of OPTCL across the State.

Pay Scale:
Management Trainee (Civil/Law)  -  ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500
Junior Management Trainee  (Civil) - ₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400
Office Assistant Grade-III -   ₹29,300 – ₹92,400

Eligibility Criteria: 

Management Trainee Civil: A regular Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 60% marks in aggregate, or Passing of Section A&B of IE (India) in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. 
Management Trainee Law: Degree in Law from a recognized Institution.
Junior Management Trainee (Civil): Diploma in Civil Engineering in regular mode with at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized University /Institution.
Office Assistant Grade-III Trainee: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 60% Marks.

For SC and ST, the minimum percentage of marks required is 50%.

Age Limit: Candidate must be under 21 years of age and not above 32 years as on 01.02.2026.

Selection Procedure: Selection will be based on the Computer-Based Test (CBT) and the Personal Interview / Skill Test. Candidates must score at least 50% in CBT (SC/ST/PwBD- 40%) and clear the cut-off to qualify for the interview round. For Office Assistant Gr.-III Trainee, all candidates must score  60% marks in the skill test. 

Scheme of Examination

Exam format: MCQ

Number of Questions: 200

Total Marks: 200

Marking scheme: 01 mark for each correct answer, -0.25 for an incorrect answer. 0 for unattempted questions.

Duration of CBT: 3 hrs.

Exam syllabus for MT-Civil &Law, and JMT-Civil:  Subject Knowledge (80%), Numerical / GK & Reasoning (10%) & English Knowledge (10%).

Exam syllabus for OA Gr.-III Trainee: English (30%), Computer Application (15%), Mathematics (15%), Reasoning & Mental Ability (20%), and General Awareness (20%).
