Online applications are invited from Indian citizens who have passed their final MBBS (Part-I & II) examination in not more than two attempts and will complete/ have completed their internship on or before 15 Aug 2024 and have qualified in the NEET PG; for the post of Short Service Commissioned Medical Officer in the Armed Forces Medical Services.

Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate must possess medical qualifications included in the National Medical Council Act, 2019.
The applicant must have permanent registration from any State Medical Council/NMC/MCI.
Postgraduate degree holders recognized by the State Medical Council /NBE/NMC can also apply.
Internship Completion: Only those candidates who have completed or completing their internship before 15 Aug 2024 can apply.
Age Limit: As of 31 Dec 2024, the candidate must not have attained the age of 30 years if holding an MBBS degree (only those born on or after 02 Jan 1995 are eligible) and 35 years if holding a PG degree (only those born on or after 02 Jan 1990 are eligible) respectively.
Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on NEET PG entrance exam marks, and interviews.
Place and Date of Interview: Army Hospital (R&R), Delhi Cantt. on 28 August 2024 Onwards
Physical & Medical Standards: Candidates selected on the basis of interview will have to attend the Special Medical Examination Board (SMB) constituted by the DGAFMS to examine his / her medical fitness as per laid down standards.
Tenure of Engagement:
For New Candidates: The tenure of SSC officers commissioned through the civil entry scheme is five years, extendable by another nine years in two
spells, first of five years and second of four years, for those who are willing to continue, subject to availability of vacancies and meeting the laid down eligibility criteria for grant of extension as per extant policy.
For Ex-AMC Candidates: Released AMC/SSC officers will be eligible for a grant of fresh tenure of Short Service Commission provided such officers apply within one year of the effective date of their release. The process of selection remains the same as for others.
Candidates released after the expiry of 10 years of SSC service will not be considered again for a grant of commission in the AMC. Candidates released from the AMC on resignation/ premature retirement will not be considered again for commission in the AMC.
Remuneration:
Doctors on commissioning in the Armed Forces Medical Services will be granted the rank of Captain (or equivalent rank in Navy/Air Force) in 10B level of
Defence Pay Matrix of BP Rs. 61300 + MSP Rs. 15500 + HRA (if applicable) as per the category of the city, + NPA at prevalent rates + Transport Allowance Rs. 3600-7200 as per the category of the city, + Dress Allowance Rs. 20,000 (Annually) and Dearness Allowance as per prevalent rates.
