SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ Exam 2026 Application Form

The Staff Selection Commission invites online applications from eligible candidates for the Competitive Computer Based Examination for direct recruitment to the posts of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ (Group ‘B’, Non- Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade ‘D’(Group ‘C’) in various Ministries/Departments/Organizations including their Attached offices, Subordinate offices and Statutory bodies of the Government of India located in various States and Union Territories.

Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 18 years and must not have crossed the maximum age of 30 years (27 years for Grade D) as on 01-08-2026. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of Computer Based Examination, and Skill Test.

Based on the marks scored in the Computer Based Examination, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in the Skill Test.

Skill Test is mandatory but qualifying in nature. The Commission will fix category-wise qualifying standards in the Skill Test for each post. The candidates who qualify the Skill Test will be considered for FRTA/ final selection on the basis of their merit in the Computer Based Examination.

Application fee: Rs.100/-
SC/ ST/ PwBD/ Ex-Servicemen/ Female candidates are exempted from payment of any application fees.
