DBA program Curriculum and Structure

At Birchwood, the DBA program curriculum is designed in a manner that facilitates completion within 3 years. No scholars are granted extension years. DBA scholars at Birchwood will go through three different stages in the DBA program:

Mandatory Coursework:The first semester of the DBA makes up the first phase with mandatory completion of coursework. DBA scholars are required to also finalize their topic selection in this phase. The coursework will focus on research methods, techniques and the assigning of Research faculty/Supervisor. This stage also comprises several presentations and seminars.

Fieldwork and Lab:This is the second stage of your DBA program, which will span across the second and third semesters. Scholars will engage in extensive fieldwork and research, data collection and submission of synopsis. Monthly progress reports must also be maintained and submitted during this phase. Seminars and presentations are also a vital part of this stage. 

DBA Thesis Defense: 

The final stage of the program is the doctoral thesis submission and defense wherein scholars will be required to submit their originally conducted research in a complete thesis. This phase will span from the fourth to the sixth semester. Committee reviews, thesis re-write-ups, viva voce (oral defence) and honouring with a Doctorate in Business Administration, make up the final stage of this program.
