    Job Description :

    Applications are invited from unmarried male and unmarried female Engineering Graduates and also from widows of Indian Armed Forces Defence Personnel who died in harness for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army.

    Eligibility Criteria:
    Candidates who have passed the requisite engineering degree course or are in the final year of the engineering degree course are eligible to apply. Candidates should be able to submit proof of passing the Engineering Degree Examination along with mark sheets of all semesters/years by 01 April 2025 and produce the Engineering Degree Certificate within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at Pre-Commissioning Training Academy (PCTA).

    Educational Qualification for Widows of Indian Armed Forces Defence Personnel who Died in Harness.
    (i) SSCW (Non-Tech) (Non-UPSC): Graduation in any Discipline.
    (ii) SSCW (Tech): B.E. / B. Tech in any Engineering stream

    Age Limit: 

    For SSC(Tech)- 64 Men and SSCW(Tech)- 35 Women: Minimum 20 years and maximum 27 years as of 01 APR 2025 (Candidates born between 02 Apr 1998 and 01 Apr 2005, both days inclusive).
    For Widows of Indian Armed Forces Defence Personnel who Died in Harness Only. SSCW (Non-Tech) [Non-UPSC] and SSCW(Tech): A maximum of 35 years of age as of 01 APR 2025. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.

    Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on SSB interview, followed by a medical examination.

    Shortlisted candidates will be allotted a selection centre. After allotment of the Selection Centre, candidates will have to login to the website and select their SSB dates which are available on a first come first serve basis.

    Shortlisted candidates depending on the cut-off percentage will be interviewed at one of the Selection Centres viz. Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka) and Jalandhar Cantt (Punjab) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer. The call-up letter for SSB interview will be issued by respective selection centres through the candidate’s registered e-mail ID and SMS only.

    The duration of SSB interviews is five days. Candidates will be put through two stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage-1 will go to Stage-2.

    Final semester/year studying candidates will be provisionally allowed to appear in SSB.

    Training: Selected candidates will be detailed for training at the Officers Training Academy, according to their position in the final order of merit (engineering stream-wise) up to the number of available vacancies and subject to meeting all eligibility criteria. The duration of Training is 49 weeks.

    Lieutenant: Level-10 - 56,100 - 1,77,500 per month
    Captain: Level- 10B - 61,300-1,93,900 per month
    Major: Level- 11 - 69,400-2,07,200 per month
    Lieutenant Colonel: Level- 12A - 1,21,200-2,12,400 per month
    Colonel: Level- 13 - 1,30,600-2,15,900 per month
    Brigadier: Level -13A - 1,39,600-2,17,600 per month
    Major General: Level- 14 - 1,44,200-2,18,200 per month
    Lieutenant General HAG Scale: Level- 15 - 1,82,200-2,24,100 per month
    Lieutenant General HAG +Scale: Level- 16 - 2,05,400-2,24,400 per month
    VCOAS/Army Cdr/Lieutenant General (NFSG): Level- 17 - 2,25,000/- per month
    COAS: Level- 18 - 2,25,000/- per month
