    Job Description :

    High Court at Calcutta invites online applications from eligible candidates for the direct recruitment of Lower Division Assistant positions.

    Name of the Post and Number of Vacancies:
    Lower Division Assistant: 291 Vacancies

    Important Dates:
    Commencement of Online Application: 05-08-2024
    Last Date of Submission of Online Application: 26-08-2024

    Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination(12th standard) from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its Equivalent examination from a recognized Council/ Board.

    Candidate must know the vernacular of the State.

    Age Limit: The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 40 years as of 01-01-2024. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable per government rules.

    Selection Process:
    Candidates will be selected based on written and Viva tests.
    Preliminary Screening Test (Phase-I): Preliminary Screening Test will be in OMR based total of 100 marks(Arithmetic, General Knowledge and Computer Proficiency, General Intelligence, and English).

    Competitive Written Test (Phase-II): Candidates selected and shortlisted in the Preliminary Screening Test(OMR-based) are required to appear in a Competitive Written Test in (i) Arithmetic, (ii) English essay and precis writing, and (iii) General Knowledge. Each subject shall carry 100 marks, aggregating to 300 marks and the duration of the Competitive Written Test shall be of 3 hours.

    Viva-Voce Test (Phase-III): Candidates securing qualifying marks and selected in order of merit shall be required to appear at the viva-voce test of hundred (100) marks. The marks obtained in the Competitive Written Test and viva-voce shall be considered at the time of preparing the overall final merit list.

    Pay Scale: Level – 6 (Rs. 22,700/- –Rs. 58,500/-) with minimum pay of Rs. 24,100/-

    Application Fee: Rs.400 for SC/ST category candidates of the state of West Bengal, and Rs. 800 for all other candidates. Applicants are suggested to pay the application fee through online mode only.
