    The Joint Entrance Examination – Main, is a standardized computer-based test in India for admission to various technical undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and planning at colleges across the country. The examination consists of only two papers: Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech courses and Paper 2 for B.Arch and B.Planning courses. 

    Joint Entrance Exam Advanced (JEE Advanced)

    The Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced is an annual academic exam in India that assesses applicants' skills in physics, chemistry, and mathematics. It is organized by one of the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) under the supervision of the Joint Admission Board (JAB), following a round-robin rotation for candidates who qualify from JEE-Main.

    CUET (Common University Entrance Test)

    The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is a standardized examination in India administered by the National Testing Agency.     The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) is a nationwide entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission to undergraduate medical programs.     National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG)

    The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Postgraduate) is an entrance examination conducted by the national board of examinations in medical sciences. It determines candidates' eligibility for admission to postgraduate medical programs in government and private colleges, including Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), PG diplomas, Diplomate of National Board (DNB), and Doctorate of National Board (DrNB).

    Common Admission Test (CAT)

    The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer-based exam for admission to graduate management programs. Initiated by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), the test is used to select students for MBA and PGDM programs. Each year, one of the IIMs conducts the exam on a rotating basis. 

    XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)

    MAT (Management Aptitude Test)

    Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)

    Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED)

    CEED is an annual entrance exam for postgraduate studies in technological design, conducted by the Industrial Design Centre at IIT Bombay on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resource Development.     Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)

Qualifying in the NCET is mandatory for admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) at select Central and State universities, including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and government colleges.

    Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET)

    Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR NET)

    CSIR and UGC provide Research Fellowships to train candidates in research methods under faculty and scientists' guidance in various scientific fields. The Joint CSIR-UGC NET Fellowship program supports national science and technology development by awarding numerous Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs) to candidates who pass the CSIR Test. It assesses the eligibility of Indian nationals for JRF, Assistant Professor positions, and Ph.D. admissions based on UGC criteria.     Combined Defence Services (CDS)

    The Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) is an annual test conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruiting officer cadets in the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA), and Officers Training Academy (OTA). Graduates can take this exam to secure officer positions in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The CDS consists of two stages: a written test followed by an SSB interview.

    Civil Services Examination (CSE)

    The Civil Services Examination is a national level test conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to higher civil services in India, including All India Services such as IAS, IPS and Central Civil Services (Group A and select Group B posts). This includes IFS, IIS, IRS and other profiles. The exam has three phases: a preliminary examination with two objective papers, a main examination consisting of nine conventional papers and finally a personal interview round.

    Union Public Service Commission’s Indian Engineering Services Exam (UPSC IES Exam)

    The Union Public Service Commission's Indian Engineering Services Exam (UPSC IES Exam) is a prestigious national-level examination conducted annually for recruitment to various engineering services in the Indian government. The exam aims to select candidates for positions in sectors like railways, defense, and public works, ensuring the efficient functioning of engineering services. The UPSC IES Exam is highly competitive, attracting thousands of engineering graduates each year, making it a gateway to esteemed engineering roles in the Indian government. 

    The UPSC IES Exam consists of three stages: 

    1. Preliminary Examination: This is an objective-type test featuring two papers—General Studies and Engineering-specific subjects.

    STATE LEVEL ENTRANCE EXAMS IN INDIA

    Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET)

    MHT-CET is conducted for admission to engineering colleges in Maharashtra. The exam is important for students wishing to secure admission to undergraduate engineering, agriculture and pharmacy courses in the state of Maharashtra. The test is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education. 

    Format: This is an online, computer based exam. For engineering students, there are 2 sections: Section 1- Physics and Chemistry, and Section 2- Mathematics.

    Uttar Pradesh Combined Entrance Test (UPCET)

    Formerly known as Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE), the Uttar Pradesh Combined Entrance Test  (UPCET) is a state-level entrance exam. This exam is conducted primarily to enroll students into various UG and PG courses available in institutions that are affiliated with either  Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) or Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT) or other UPCET participating institutions. 

    Format: The exam is Segregated into three sections primarily the language section, subjects and general test. It is conducted in online computer based test (CBT) mode. 

    Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET)

    The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is an annual exam conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admission into various undergraduate courses including engineering. KCET serves as a significant pathway for aspiring students seeking professional education in Karnataka. The KCET 2024 assesses the eligibility and merit of candidates, including those from Jammu & Kashmir migrants, for full-time B.Tech course. This highly competitive exam attracts thousands of students each year.

    Format: This exam is conducted in offline mode and consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology, with a total of 180 marks.

    The Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK)

    COMEDK conducts a state-level entrance exam for students seeking admission to engineering and medical courses in various private colleges across Karnataka. Established to facilitate a transparent and fair admission process, COMEDK aims to provide a single platform for students to secure seats in numerous participating institutions. The exam is recognized for its emphasis on merit, enabling students to compete for seats based on their performance.

    Format: The COMEDK Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) is primarily focused on engineering programs, assessing candidates in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics through a comprehensive multiple-choice format comprising 180 questions.

    Engineering Agricultural and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (AP EAPCET)

This exam is designed for students seeking admission to undergraduate programs in engineering, agriculture and pharmacy.     Telangana Engineering, Agriculture & Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) 

    The Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET), also known as TG EAPCET, is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) Hyderabad for the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE). The TS EAMCET, held as a Computer-Based Test, is essential for admission into various professional courses in engineering, agriculture, pharmacy, and veterinary sciences at colleges across Telangana. The exam features multiple-choice questions in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. 

    West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB)  

    The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) for admission to undergraduate courses in engineering, technology, pharmacy, and architecture. This OMR-based examination consists of two papers: Paper 1, which focuses on Mathematics, and Paper 2, covering Physics and Chemistry.     Punjab University Lateral Engineering Entrance Test (PULEET)

    PULEET, or Panjab University Lateral Engineering Entrance Test, is organized by the admission authority of Panjab University, Chandigarh, for students seeking admission to the second year of the Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree program. The BE courses available include Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Biotechnology, Electrical & Electronics, and Mechanical Engineering.  The participating institutes governed by the Reservation Rules of Panjab University include the University Institute of Engineering & Technology, Dr. S.S. Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology, and the Panjab University Swami Sarvanand Giri Regional Centre in Hoshiarpur. Additionally, the Chandigarh College of Engineering & Technology (Degree Wing) also participates under the Reservation Rules of the Chandigarh Administration. 

    Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET)

    The Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) is conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) for admission to undergraduate programs in engineering, management, and pharmacy across various government and private institutions affiliated with Himachal Pradesh Technical University. The exam assesses candidates through multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Biology. 

    Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET)

    The Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) is conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) for admission to B.Tech and B.Pharma programs at various colleges in Gujarat. This state-level examination is exclusively for candidates domiciled in Gujarat, meaning those from other states are not eligible. However, individuals who have moved to Gujarat and have established residency may qualify as domiciled candidates with appropriate proof. Additionally, students who have completed their 12th grade in Gujarat can also apply for the GUJCET.     Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE)

    The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) conducts the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) annually, as mandated by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act, 1995. This MCQs-based exam facilitates admissions to various professional courses in medical, engineering, and agricultural fields across recognized institutions in Bihar. Major subjects in this exam are Physics, Chemistry, Math, and Biology. To participate in the online counseling process, candidates must achieve the required cutoff marks.     Delhi Common Entrance Test (CET)

    Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM)

    The Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) is a state-level entrance examination series conducted by the Office of the Commissioner of Entrance Exams (CEE), Kerala, for admissions to various engineering and architecture degree courses in the state. KEAM is administered offline and the exam consists of two parts: Part I MCQs in Physics and Chemistry, while Part II focuses on Mathematics, assessing students' knowledge and aptitude.     Madhya Pradesh Engineering Test (MP PET)

    Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE)

    The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board for candidates seeking admission to B.Tech and B.Sc. programs in colleges located in Jharkhand. The JCECE syllabus includes subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology, depending on the program. 

    Chhattisgarh Pre-Engineering Test (CG PET)

    The Chhattisgarh Pre-Engineering Test (CG PET) is an annual state-level entrance examination conducted by the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CPEB) for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses in participating institutes across the state. This is an offline test that evaluates candidates in subjects including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. In addition to CG PET scores, JEE Main scores are also considered for admissions. The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Raipur oversees the counseling process for CG PET, ensuring a streamlined admission experience for eligible candidates.

    NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE)

    The NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE) is conducted by the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) for admissions to various programs, including BTech, BSc (Hons) in Forestry, and certificate courses. The examination comprises three levels: NEE-I for certificate courses, NEE-II for BTech and BSc (Hons) admissions, and NEE-III for BTech lateral entry. It facilitates admissions to the first year of BE/BTech and BArch courses at various government and private institutions in the state. For BE/BTech admissions, the counseling process prioritizes candidates based on their JEE Main ranks and class 12 marks. REAP streamlines the admission process, ensuring a fair and efficient selection of students into engineering programs in Rajasthan.

    The Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET)

    JKCET is a state-level examination conducted for admission into various undergraduate engineering and medical programs in colleges across Jammu and Kashmir. The exam is typically held annually and is organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE). This is a 3-hour duration exam and consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering relevant subjects. Post-results, a counseling process is conducted for seat allocation based on ranks and preferences.

    Private Institutions Engineering Entrance Exams

    Vellore Institute of Technology (VITEEE) 

    The VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) is conducted annually in April and serves as the gateway for admission to VIT's undergraduate engineering programs. The application process typically opens in March, allowing candidates to register online. The exam is held in approximately 125 cities nationwide and six cities abroad including Dubai, Muscat, Qatar, Kuwait, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. The exam is conducted in an online format to fill around 5,000 seats across VIT's campuses in Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal, and Amaravati. Admission is primarily based on VITEEE scores, with specific eligibility criteria that candidates must meet to qualify for the exam. 

    Manipal Entrance Test (MET)

    Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) organizes the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) every year to choose students for admission to its campuses. Candidates can use their MET scores to apply for B.Tech. programs at Manipal Institute of Technology in Manipal, Manipal University in Jaipur, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, and Manipal Institute of Technology in Bengaluru. The MET is a computer-based test held at different centers, featuring objective multiple-choice questions that candidates need to answer.

    Shiv Nadar University Scholastic Aptitude Test (SNUSAT)

    Shiv Nadar University (SNU) conducts its own entrance exams, the Shiv Nadar University Scholastic Aptitude Test (SNUSAT) and the Academic Proficiency Test (APT), both held online. A strong score on these exams can secure admission to the university. The SNUSAT & APT is a 3-hour, multiple-choice exam with no negative marking, divided into four sections, each with a specific time limit for completion.

    Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT)

    BITSAT, or the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test, is a computer-based entrance exam for admission to BITS campuses in India, including Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. The test assesses candidates' proficiency in chemistry, physics, mathematics/biology, and English through a 3-hour multiple-choice format. To succeed, students should understand the exam pattern, practice with past papers, and strengthen their subject knowledge. Additionally, a good BITSAT score can also allow candidates to apply for select joint collaborative programs with international universities in Australia and the USA.

    Symbiosis Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (SITEE)

    Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech programs at Symbiosis International (Deemed University) must take the mandatory Computer Based Test (CBT), known since 2018 as the SIT Engineering Entrance Exam (SITEEE). This exam is conducted in various cities across India. To apply for SITEEE 2024, candidates must register for the test and also separately register for their preferred programs, paying additional fees for each. If shortlisted, candidates will then participate in further individual admission processes at the respective institutes. The test is specifically for admissions to the Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT) campuses in Pune, Nagpur, and Hyderabad.

    Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET)

    The CUCET Entrance Exam is an important university-level test for admission to various engineering programs at Chandigarh University. This mandatory national-level exam determines student eligibility and can qualify candidates for up to 100% scholarships for undergraduate engineering courses. While admission primarily depends on CUCET scores, students with over 90% in their qualifying exams or a rank within the top 50,000 in JEE may be exempt. 

    Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Common Entrance Test (BVP CET)

    Bharati Vidyapeeth Common Entrance Test (BVP CET) is conducted by Bharati Vidyapeeth University in Pune for admission to various undergraduate engineering programs. This exam provides access to around 700 B.Tech seats at the university, with candidates being offered seats based on their performance. The test is a computer-based format lasting three hours and is held annually. It is essential for gaining admission to the university and consists of multiple-choice questions focusing on specific subjects.

    SRM Joint Entrance Examination for Engineering (SRMJEEE)

    SRM Joint Entrance Examination for Engineering (SRMJEEE) is a prestigious national-level entrance exam organized by SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly SRM University) for aspiring BTech students. This examination assesses candidates in key subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (or Biology for Biotechnology aspirants), Aptitude, and English, all aligned with the 10+2 syllabus. Conducted remotely, SRMJEEE offers flexibility and convenience, allowing candidates to participate from the comfort of their homes. The exam format is designed to evaluate a comprehensive understanding of the core subjects essential for engineering studies. 

    University of Petroleum & Energy Studies Engineering Aptitude Test (UPSEAT)

    Candidates interested in pursuing B.Tech courses can take the UPESEAT exam, which stands for the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies Engineering Aptitude Test. Conducted annually by UPES, this university-level entrance exam provides admission to various B.Tech programs across multiple disciplines. UPES is a self-financed university approved by UGC and AICTE, emphasizing specialized education in petroleum and energy studies. The admission process primarily relies on UPESEAT, with 80% of seats allocated based on this exam. The remaining 20% of seats are filled through JEE Main scores and Class 12 results. The UPESEAT is an online exam lasting 2 hours, designed to assess candidates' engineering aptitude and readiness for the program. 

    Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS)

    The NMIMS Common Entrance Test (NCET) is a university-level examination for admission to undergraduate engineering programs at NMIMS campuses, including Mumbai, Indore, Navi Mumbai, Shirpur, Chandigarh, and Hyderabad. The exam is conducted by Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. Candidates must have completed 12th grade or an equivalent from a recognized board, with at least 45% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or a vocational subject. 

    BMU Aptitude Test (BMU-SAT) 

    This is an entrance exam for undergraduate programs in engineering and technology at BML Munjal University (BMU). The selection process involves a review of applications by the selection committee, followed by personal interviews for shortlisted candidates. Apart from BMU-SAT, BMU also considers JEE Main for B.Tech.admissions.

    Medical Entrance Exams

    INI-CET

    The Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI-CET) is held for admission to postgraduate courses such as MD, MS, DM (6 years), MCh (6 years), and MDS at institutes of national importance (INIs). This includes AIIMS-NewDelhi, JIPMER-Puducherry, NIMHANS-Bengaluru, PGIMER-Chandigarh, and SCTIMST-Trivandrum. This biannual exam allows candidates who have completed their MBBS or an equivalent course to apply for over 800 postgraduate positions in various medical disciplines across 21 medical institutes. The INI-CET is managed by the Examination Section of AIIMS, New Delhi, in collaboration with nodal officers from all INIs. AIIMS, New Delhi is responsible for all aspects of the combined entrance test, including applications, exam administration, result declaration, and seat allocation.

    National Eligibility Entrance Test for Post Graduation (NEET PG)

    NEET PG is conducted annually by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to facilitate admissions to various postgraduate medical programs, including Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS) and PG diploma courses across India. This computer based exam also serves as a gateway for admissions to postgraduate MBBS DNB courses. NEET PG determines the eligibility of candidates for PG medical programs in both government and private medical colleges. It has replaced the All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE). The counselling and seat allocation processes are overseen by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

    National Eligibility Entrance Test for Super Specialty Courses (NEET SS)

    NEET SS exam is organized by the National Board of Examinations for admission to various DM, MCh, and DNB courses. This examination serves as both a qualifying and ranking test for entry into medical super specialty programs. As per the Indian Medical Act of 2016, no other entrance exam is accepted for admission to these courses. NEET SS is held annually in a computer based format.

    National Eligibility Entrance Test for (NEET MDS)

    The NEET entrance exam for Masters of Dental Surgery or NEET MDS, is organized by the National Board of Examination (NBE) for admission to postgraduate dental programs in India. This exam serves as both an eligibility and ranking test and is conducted annually in an online format. The scores of this exam are accepted by most dental colleges nationwide. MDS seats in India are allocated across the All India Quota (AIQ), state quota seats, and those in deemed/central universities and private colleges. After NEET MDS results are announced, the counseling process is generally handled by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

    All India AYUSH Postgraduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET)

    This exam is conducted for admissions to postgraduate courses in Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the AIAPGET exam on behalf of the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The exam is held annually in a computer based format. Candidates who meet the minimum cutoff percentile can choose MS, MD, or PG diploma courses in these disciplines. Admissions to these courses are based on merit. The candidates who pass the AIAPGET are invited in a counselling round organized by the AYUSH Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC).

    Diplomate of National Board Post Diploma Centralized Entrance Test (DNB PDCET)

    This is a ranking examination conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE), for admissions to various post diploma DNB courses. Candidates who register for DNB programme after clearing DNB PDCET, are required to complete 2 years of practical training under any NBE accredited institution, hospital or medical college. After completion of the practical training, he/she has to appear for the DNB final exam and clear it, only then he/she will be awarded a DNB degree.

    Institute of National Importance Super Specialty Entrance Test (INI SS)

    This exam is conducted by AIIMS for admission to Post Doctoral courses, including DM, MCh, and MD in hospital administration, 11 institutes, including 8 AIIMS. The exam is held biannually, with sessions in January and July. The test consists of 80 MCQs, and candidates have 90 minutes to complete it. AIIMS employs a 2-stage admission process for DM, MCh, and MD-Hospital administration programs. Admission is based on the scores from both stages, with stage-2 departmental clinical, practical, or lab based assessment being applicable only for AIIMS.

    Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE)

    This is a licensing examination conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE). Indian citizens or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) who have obtained their primary medical qualifications from institutions outside India must pass this exam to register with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council (SMC) if they wish to practice in India. However, candidates who completed their primary degree on or before March 15, 2002, are exempted from taking the FMGE. The exam is conducted twice a year, in June and December, allowing those who do not pass in June to attempt it again in December.

    Allied Science Entrance Exams 

    Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research Common Entrance Test (SVNIRTAR CET)

    SVNIRTAR CET exam is conducted by Swami Vivekanand Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR) for admissions to undergraduate courses such as Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) and Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics (BPO) at the NILD Kolkata, SVNIRTAR Cuttack, NIEPMD Chennai and PDUNIPPD New Delhi institutes. Earlier NILD Kolkata used to conduct this exam and hence was named as NILD CET. The SVNIRTAR CET is conducted in the English language in online mode and consists of MCQs. The duration of the exam is 2 hours and there is no negative marking.

    All India Institute of Medical Sciences MSc Nursing Exam

    AIIMS conducts this nursing exam for admission to MSc nursing seats in different institutions of AIIMS across the country including AIIMS in New Delhi, Raipur, Rishikesh, Bhubaneshwar, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Patna, Gorakhpur, Kalyani, Deoghar, Bibinagar and Manglagiri. As per the exam pattern, candidates need to attempt 90 multiple choice questions in 90 minutes. Based on the AIIMS MSc Nursing result, online seat allocation for all the participating AIIMS institutes will be done.
