There are two accrediting bodies recognized by the leading companies across the world i.e. American Society for Quality (ASQ) and the International Association of Six Sigma Certification (IASSC) which has set the global standards for the training and certification of Six Sigma Belt.

If you want to do the Six Sigma Course, there are six eligibility criteria and exam processes for you. Also, once you complete the certification, different job opportunities can be achieved.
As the ASQ (American Society for Quality) wants to have at least three years of experience from a candidate who has worked full-time in any of the areas mentioned in the CSSGB Body of knowledge.
ASQ conducts a written and multiple-choice exam that should be passing to get the certification. To measure the comprehension of the body knowledge of a candidate, it will be a four hours long exam with 100 questions. This exam primarily available in the English language however ASQ has started to provide the house in some other languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, and Mandarin. These examinations are now turned into Paper-based testing and can only be available in high demand areas at ASQ sponsored locations. This is why Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training is helpful to pass the exams.
Once you complete the CSSGB certification, you will be able to assist the Black Belt projects with data collection and analysis. Also, you can Lead Green Belt projects or teams. Moreover, this certification is validated for a lifetime and doesn't require revalidation.
As per the guidelines of ASQ, there is no need to complete the Six Sigma Green Belt to do the Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Nevertheless, two projects with signed affidavits or one project completed along with the signed affidavit and experience in one or more than one field of Six Sigma Black Belt Body of Knowledge of at least three years.
There is an examination to measure your comprehension of the body of knowledge and every candidate is required to pass the exam. The exam will be written type and consists of 150 questions for ASQ in four hours duration.
After completing the Six Sigma Black Belt Certification, you will get the roles in which you can lead problem-solving projects also, coach and train the project teams.
This certification is valid for three years. It means every three years you need to renew your certification. It can either be done through document 18 RU credits or retake the certification examination.
All those professionals who are acquiring the ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt certification are eligible to complete this level of certification. Or else, the candidate must have any of the experience levels:
A candidate must have experience of five years in the role of a Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt.
OR
The candidate must have completed 10 Six Sigma Black Belt projects.
If a candidate fulfills these minimum eligibility criteria requirements, their portfolio can be reviewed for certification.
Once a candidate fulfills the minimum eligibility criteria, the portfolio will be considered for review under the panel who will evaluate the candidate’s SSBB and MBB work. After getting approval from the panel, the candidate can register for the MBB certification examination.
On getting approval for your portfolio, you are eligible to register for the MBB examination. Your knowledge and application of theoretical concepts into practical conditions will be evaluated through four-five exams. There will be two components measuring two different types of skill sets.
